京都東山の松原通に通ずる路地奥の茶屋の改修計画。内部空間を細分化して暗くしていた既存の壁の位置を変更し、自然光を取り込んだ大きな繋がりのある空間を設計した。撤去した壁に対して杉の柱を寄せてつくった耐力壁を計画し、また屋根の構造を全て現しとして、既存の構造と新規の補強が時代を経て重なる様子を感じられる空間とした。
El proyecto consiste en la renovación de una casa de té tradicional situada al fondo de un callejón que conecta con la calle Matsubara, en el distrito de Higashiyama, Kioto. El interior existente, antes dividido en pequeñas estancias oscuras, fue reorganizado modificando la posición de los muros para crear un espacio amplio, continuo y lleno de luz natural. En sustitución de los muros retirados, se incorporaron nuevos muros estructurales formados por columnas de cedro dispuestas en conjunto, y toda la estructura del techo se dejó expuesta. El espacio resultante permite percibir la superposición entre la estructura original y los nuevos refuerzos, transmitiendo la sensación del paso del tiempo a través de la arquitectura.
This project involves the renovation of a traditional teahouse located at the end of an alley leading from Matsubara Street in Higashiyama, Kyoto. The existing interior was divided into small, dark rooms, so the partition walls were reconfigured to create a spacious, interconnected environment filled with natural light. In place of the removed walls, new shear walls composed of closely set cedar columns were introduced, and the entire roof structure was left exposed. The resulting space reveals the layered relationship between the original framework and the newly added reinforcements, allowing visitors to sense the passage of time within the architecture.
